Agency Partners on Viral Video and Marketing Campaign for Black friday

Orange County, CA, November 23, 2009 – OC Creative Media, Orange County’s  Leading Marketing Agency, is pleased to announce its partnership with Unclevic.com and Point One Technologies Inc. in the promotion and marketing for UncleVic.com’s Penny Pincher Promotion for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

OC Creative Media developed the concept, marketing plan, online distribution and the social media distribution for UncleVic.com’s viral video campaign “Donttelleverybody.com”

“We’re stoked about Black-Friday this year,” says Jim Wendt, Marketing Manager at UncleVic.com.  “We launched last year right before Black Friday so this is sort of like Uncle Vic’s huge 1st birthday party.”

OC Creative Media wanted the viral video campaign to do more than just promote Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales for UncleVic.com. The challenge was promoting a fairly unknown brand name in the online electronics sales world.  The result, a video series, a youtube channel, a custom video landing page and huge growth in brand awareness.

OC Creative Media created a campaign that allowed users to rate, comment and share various viral videos along platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Myspace and Twitter.  These videos drove viewers to the custom landing page: donttelleverybody.com where Uncle Vic’s Penny Pincher Deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday were featured.

Pairing this viral media campaign with an aggressive press release campaign including blogs, news outlets and digital mashups.

All of these elements worked to create the highly successful viral video campaign increasing website views for UncleVic.com and increasing brand awareness for both UncleVic.com as well as the “Don’t Tell Everybody” slogan.

Trends of visual perfection – An Evolution

During the Renaissance era artists strived for perfection. They believed in the exact mix of science and art. Today we all do the same in eternally searching for perfection. We search for perfection even in the simplest aspects of life, like the water bottles, we go for the lightest, formfitting, filled with the most water. But when is it too much, when do we need to step back and take a new path. Like all transitions in art it comes as a reaction to what preceded it.  After the clean cut Renaissance artists took interest in the flowing lines and colors of the Asian artists. The Japanese loved to use women and flowers in their paintings because of their soft lines.

Hourglasses are iconic symbols for a countdown. Every era has its end its just a matter of time. As the bottle move through the middle it transforms into pure water. It’s the beauty of how the water can form into any shape but never has a hard edge. But like all design elements they have a popular time and then they die out but they always come back into the light. The hourglass is not just a one way track once the world gets tired of one style they tend to go back the other way so if we flip the glass over the water forms back into bottles representing the fluidity of design and its ever changing face.

CSU Media Arts Festival Finalist

We are proud to announce that a commercial we took part in creating for California State University Long Beach came  in 4th place at the CSU Media arts festival last night.  The event took place at Cal State Fullerton and showcased the best video work from all of the CSU schools.   There were a lot of great projects and it was a honor to be chosen as a finalist.  Our crew, Brandon Cammell (Producer) and Torrey Tayenaka/ David Joseph Falossi (DP), worked with director John Nasteff to create the concept “IN MIND”.  Using a yellow and black color scheme (CSULB’s colors) we created an advertisement that shows students they can achieve whatever they want at CSULB.  Check out our commercial.

Orange County Graduation Video Production

Our company got its start in live event production 6 years ago, creating videos for high schools, parties, concerts, and charity events.  One of our specialties is graduations.  We capture graduations unlike anyone else, using our experience and creativity to output a fun DVD that graduates will have forever.  This demo takes you through Capistrano Valley’s 2009 graduation ceremony and grad night party.  Here you will see our beautiful cinematography skills, and how we use editing to create an amazing finished product.

Pandora Radio – Connecting with social networks

Pandora RadioIf you are like me and were working this morning at 1:30 am you may have noticed that your favorite Pandora radio station stopped playing… since we all support our favorite artists I also can assume all of you pay for a premium pandora account ( no commercials and no “are you still listening” )  So as you can imagine I was surprised to hear Jose Gonzales abruptly stop in the middle of a song.  I was prompted with a notice informing me that the player had been updated and that my Pandora player was now out of date.  With quick refresh I was back up and running with no noticeable changes to the player…. until I took closer look at the control panel and discovered Twitter and Facebook connect! as well as Email to a friend and Gift to a friend.

All four options allow for either a song or a station to be shared, emailed or tweeted with a quick click on an icon.  As we have said before, Social Media and Social Network marketing is the wave of the future.  Consumers want to engage in their media and advertising so we must adapt!   Look for big things from Pandora I truly believe that this will really help boost their profits.

Just imagine I click share to my facebook just once and over 1000 of my network see Pandora as well as the band or station! Good luck to Pandora, and to everyone else start thinking of how you can promote your business through social networks, because if you don’t you are going to be left behind.
